  Metropolitan Funeral Services is the absolute worst funeral home to bury a loved one. Shalita Washington the director is unorganized, unreliable and forgetful. Unfortunately I buried my mother there this past weekend. To began with the staff and management have no communication with one another. I would agree on arrangements with the director and then have to explain myself again to the rude lady at the front desk Marsha. Marsha was uninterested and she didn't seem to care for her job. I must add while planning this funeral myself and other family members live 8 hours away from Virginia. Which means communication is very important . I would call and get disconnected or left on hold and someone else would pick up and then I would have to start all over again. They forget to tell you things like you should only send 8 pictures at a time otherwise your email may not reach them for a cd. There is absoultely no organization with this organization. I do not remember anyone personally offering their condolences besides Dominique she was very nice and she actually seemed like she cared. Right now I am just mentioning all the clerical errors and disorganization but it actually gets worst. When I called the grave site they said they have no record of my mother coming there when I confronted the director she said she called but somehow they have no record. Two days before the funeral things are not in order. The professional make up artist did a horrible job on my mother's makeup he slapped lipstick and eyebrows on and sent her on her way. They insisted he was a professional. The day of of the funeral the police escort did not show up. Metropolitain sent the oldest limo they could find to pick up my family and I. When we got into the limo the leather on the seats was torn it snagged my silk skirt and tore my auntie's pantyhose . The limo had dents on the side ,to add insult to injury the limo had no air coniditioning. So here we are headed to my mother's funeral with my asmathic grandmother in 97 degree weather sweaty and hot. During our sweaty ride the limo driver takes us to the wrong funeral home! When we arrived at Metropolitan they said they would get a new limo with A/C . After a almost 2 hour service we come outside to the same raggedy limo . Pressed for time we rode to the grave site in the limo. The limo driver that took us to the repass was friendly and helpful. I would urge anyone who reads this review to take heed and trust. If I didn't have to give at least one star to post I would have gave none . If you are looking forva caring, compassionate , friendly, reliable, organized place to honor your loved ones last wishes metropolitain is not the place for you .   This is thee most horrible funeral service available!! Its janky and very unprofessional. I recently had a loved one put away with Metropolitan at their request and I know she's turning in her grave at their services. I advise anyone planning a funeral to NOT GO TO METROPOLITAN! Quality is not provided with their services and you wouldn't want to remember your loved one the way this company will have you remembering them.....BAD BAD BAD AND BAD!!!!!!!!!!
